About the Governor's Institute
The Governor's Institute on Substance Abuse is a non-profit organization located in Raleigh, NC. The Governor's Institute aims to always be an important partner and resource, providing innovative professional education and technical assistance, workforce development, networking opportunities and other collaborations among research and educational programs, professional organizations, and clinics, hospitals and other treatment facilities.
As part of the Governor’s Institute’s contract with the NC Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services (DMHDDSAS), the Governor's Institute has been able to provide scholarship funding to graduate-level students enrolled in a Criteria C program. The following NC universities are apart of the Governor's Institute yearly scholarship program:

Workforce and Continuing Education Scholarship Program
The goal of this program is to identify and engage emerging leaders in the Substance Use Disorders field. Those awarded scholarships must be currently working within public substance use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery services and be in good standing with their organization. Assistance includes but is not limited to standardized test payments, and registration fees for various substance use disorder conferences and trainings. Priority will be given to individuals serving historically marginalized and/or rural populations. To be considered, one must complete an online application for the Governor's Institute.
With tremendous assistance from the North Carolina Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board (NCASPPB), the Governor's Institute provides funding for LCAS and CCS exam fees. To be considered, one must complete an online application for the Governor's Institute.
